Creating backgrounds with stamps - Nic Amber

Are you getting the most out of your stamps??

Why not use them to create your own background patterned paper.  There are plenty of stamps out there that are designed specifically to create backgrounds, but this week I have used stamps that were probably not designed with backgrounds in mind.

I have used the Sullivans 'Best Friends' clear stamp set which is great value at under $7.

Before I started the background, I stamped the bird images in the corners of the card with versamark ink, sprinkled clear embossing powder over the top then embossed with a heat gun.  This will resist any ink that is placed over the top of it.

I have used the 'BEST FRIENDS' stamp in this Sullivans clear stamp set to create the background for the card.

Repetition plays a big part in creating these backgrounds.  I stamped 'BEST FRIENDS' over and over until the paper was covered.  I then added some colour to the card by inking with some distress ink in several different colours to get some depth.
You can now see the bird images where the ink has been resisted.

To finish off the card, I have added some Adornit clear sticker flourishes and a flower (which I inked to match the colours in the card).

In the next example, I have used the asterisk stamp in the Sullivans stamp set to create a different look.
I again repeated the stamped image but this time in two colours.

To finish off the card, I have just added a title from the stamp set, some sequin trim, a crystal brad and some kindy glitz.

There are some great stamps in store now...come and check them out HERE!!

Hope you all have a great day....happy creating!!
