June 2011 Craft Convention at Brisbane!

It has been a while since i posted and thought I would share what I got up to on the long weekend...

Oh what a blast I had with my very first trip on the train to brissy and back on my own and made it safely. Was a very fulfilling exercise i have to say.

I stayed and shared a room for a night with my gorgeous friend Gaye. You were so kind to have me and grateful to spend time with you and chat lots.

The first day I was able to do 2 classes... one with the amazing and talented Louise Nelson... Oh i LOVED this class and learnt so so much. Thankyou Lou your so inspiring and such a beautiful person.

Me and Gorgeous Lou Nelson..... luv ya heaps sweet Lou xxoo

Here is Lou's layout...

Here is my interpretation of Lou's Class not quite finished.

Below are a few pics of Lou's Class! So much Tallent in this room it was amazing!!!!

It was lovely meeting up with a few Scrapchat Girls for lunch that couldn't make it out for dinner. Then I was off to another class with Jane Clark. We made two cards and were given tones of product from stampin up and had a blast. Thankyou Jane, your very talented and loved what we made.

Thankyou gorgeous Jane!

In the evening I was off to dinner with the Scrap Chat girls and had lots of laughs and fun even though my meal was served 20 mins after everyone had eaten... you get that i guess. It was a yummy meal and had a ball.

We have Manda Moran, Marnie Sanford, Susan Luke, Gaye Fuller, Cindy from Kaisercraft and some Kaisercraft girls, on the other side, Karen Culcutt, Me (tanyah payne) and Michelle Jamieson.

The 2nd day I was able to meet sooooo many talented people and also catch up with ones I had met before and not seen for a very long time.

Here is a pic of Kathleen Glossop, Georgia Keays, Tatum Woodroffe, Kerryn Leworthy, Tattums sister leanne, Louise Nelson, Me (Tanyah Payne), Mandy Collins. Was lots of fun meeting these tallented ladies.

So as always good things come to an end and I arrived safely  home late at night.

Back to the normal routines with taking kids all over the country side and then to have our Katie brake her foot has been quite a challenge... so life is going to be very interesting for the next few months and just hope it all go's very quickly for kate so she can dance again!....

Lately I have been busy creating for Bella, gettng some projects done ready for them to take to CHA for the USA show..... soon I will be creating again and showing some fun ideas that I hope to inspire you!

Scrapbooking Challenge and step-by-step tutorial ...

Hello wonderful ladies! It has been a while since I posted here, but I thought I let you know about a Scrapbooking Challenge for the this month: June 2011. The Scrappassion International Blog has chosen this challenge for you:

Take the advertisement shown below as inspiration for your layout.

You can choose to be inspired by certain colours, the design with the 8 rectangles, shapes like the swirls and butterflies, pictures of angels, coke bottles, whatever really. You can also choose to get inspiration of one of the eight pictures, the words (like Love, Play etc.) This challenge really has no limits!

Once you have made your layout, please send an email to Ria before the 30th of June.

This is the layout that I made. I based it on the colours of the first and third picture. I also used these pictures to look at the design and used lots of swirls.

This month I wanted to create a so called 'hybrid layout', which is a layout with combined traditional (paper) and digital scrapbooking elements. The digital elements are 'freebies' I downloaded in 2008 (yes, three years ago)! They are designed by 'The Ettes' and you can find their blog HERE.

Since I just cannot use Photoshop well, I decided to go back to my all time favourite : Microsoft Publisher. I first added a picture of Emma and placed that in the middle of my document. I added a title across the photo. I used shadow to make the letters stand out more. I added some swirls. I 'picked'some colours from the swirls and changed my font colours to make it match. Then I printed the whole sheet, which looked like this:

I carefully cut around the swirls and letters to make it look like this:

I printed another sheet with swirls, which I wanted to use to further embellish my layout:

Here is a picture of what the printed and cut swirls look like:

Using dark green cardstock as a background, I added two shades of orange and some white to create a colourful page:
I adhered the photo and swirls:

Using three different punches, I punched butterflies and flowers. Did you know that Tan has punches for sale at 45% discount. Click HERE to see what's still available!

I added my punched shapes to my layout, added some more pearls and done!

Happy scrapping! Love,

Ingeborg.
