EMBELLISH THIS AND MIX IT!....

Welcome to week 4 of our EMBELLISH THIS competition!...

Here is Kylies challenge....
quote.."I don't know about you, but before finding scrapbooking, I tried my hand at just about every craft available. In my craft cupboard I have - a scarf I started knitting in high school, a long-stitch my ex-boyfriend gave me and I refused to finish, a patchwork quilt with about 20 squares on it, numerous bits of sewing, a cross stitch bookmark that my grandmother gave me ages ago, my old latch-hook tool, an applique quilt that I've never finished, a broken quilling tool, plenty of jewellery and beading sets that I always planned to do, a canvas I never painted, Christmas decorations from around 1999 that I never finished, some paper tole and decopage things, and... well, you certainly get the idea!

We have all this wealth of knowledge floating around in our heads, and this is the week to put it all to some use!

Your challenge this week is to "Embellish it and MIX it"!

Combine 2 techniques from some other craft you've tried (or wanted to try) with papercraft, and use them all to create something new!
  • I don't mind of you use a piece of knitting as a base for a photo with a beaded edge,
  • a crocheted flower on a painted ATC,
  • embroidered leaves for a quilled flower,
  • whatever you choose to do, have fun!

Oh, and I'd also like to see some bright colours on your page. It's just about summer and I reckon we should be celebrating it!

For my example "Beautiful Flowers", I have used a crocheted edge to my journaling and a hand-stitched border to the whole page, plus some nice bright colours from the Ruby Rock-it Kindred Spirit range from Bella"

The judging critera is the following..
  • Journalling
  • Unique use of TITLES

  • Hand made embellishment

  • Best use of materials

  • Overal Design

  • Craftmanship

  • Met the weekly quiteria

  • Most punctual

  • Most inspiring

Can't wait to see what you come up with.. remember it doesn't have to be a layout....

Please all registered members to the competition to upload your layouts in the Scrap n craft with t Gallery http://www.scrapncraftwitht.com.au/gallery in the WEEK 4 section.

All entries must be in by midnight Wednesday 11 November 2009

Good luck to all and have LOTS and LOTS of fun
looking forward in seeing your entries...

Haha...I love your list of attempted crafts K....sounds a bit like mine! And luckily I'm a hoarder, so I should be able to find something to use. *Off to get lost in the depths of my cupboards!!

Love the example layout! This is going to be very interesting as any craft I have dabbled in over the years is tucked neatly at the far end of a 40' shipping container whilst we finish renovating the old homestead... wonder if DH would mind me drilling a whole in the other end of it?
These challenges are certainly progessing in difficulty as the weeks go on, however, I am seriously looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.
