BLOOMING - by Kylie Liston- Buchanan
Products used:
Please feel free to check these out in the SHOP!
- Basic Grey Bittersweet papers- Belgian
- praline
- Mousse
- Basic Grey Delilah milk chocolate chip alpha
- Creative imaginations Trickery Kraft die cut paper (You could use a paper doily perhaps, or a circle of paper)
- Bella chipboard “Forever” pack – buttons from the pack
- Embroidery thread
- Jenni Bowlin Bingo Card
- Green tara and Prima flowers
- MM button brads
- Opals Embossing Powder - colour "The Nut"
Step 1 - Start with the 12 x 12 sheet of BG Bittersweet “Belgian”
*******************************************
Step 2 - Cut approximately 2-3 inch strip of the striped paper (Praline) and scallop the edge with scissors, or a punch. I used the Fiskars Threading water punch. But you can also use a corner punch to create scallops
**********************************************
Step 3 - cut a strip of the Mouse pp, roughly the same size, and scallop the edge of that too. For mine, I scalloped the edge with a large corner rounder punch
Step Four - Place the striped paper on the far right edge of the layout, and then place the Mousse pp over the top of that
********************************************
Step 4 - place the half die cut paper, or doily covering the other half of the base page
******************************************
Step 6 – I printed my own photo, but roughly a 5 x7 “ photo would suit. Glue the photo half over the die cut paper and half over the mousse pp
****************************************
Step7 – Use the gorgeous Basic Grey Milk chocolate alpha stickers to create your title around the shape of the circle
Step Eight – now press out two buttons and the flower button from the Bella chipboard “Forever” pack. You can paint , ink or emboss these in brown to make them stand out.
I have chosen to emboss them with Opals “The Nut”. The white chipboard is a little resistant to the opals to start with, you need to ink them really well first, and I used 3 coats of Opals to get the desired result at the end
********************************************
Step 9 - thread the chipboard buttons with embroidery thread
Step 10 - select some flowers to match your layout and create a cluster of the flowers and buttons on the bottom right hand corner of the photo!
Step 11 - I have placed a Jenni Bowlin Bingo card underneath the cluster to create interest
*****************************************************
Step 12 – place some tiny flowers in the middle of a few of the letters in the title, and place a brad through the middle. I have used Making Memories button brads.
If you like, you can put a date somewhere, I used Rose Moka Equinox red number stickers to put the year on the very bottom right hand corner of the layout, you could also stamp.
