I'm back & a Online Canvas class with Gigi Scott...

Its been ages since i have blogged and apologies for this as September was a total right off month with kids off to two local eisteddfods and our Ben doing his first tap solo. We are so proud of what our kids what have achieved last month and were very wowed for Ben as he did something we never thought could be possible.... it is amazing if you love something enough and with lots of hard work what one can do.

As our first week of school holidays has been busy with swimming lessons, gymnastics, meeting our little niece/cousin Neena, spending time with the kids grand parents and having a big family day on Brett's side on the Saturday and My side on the Sunday. Hopefully this week will be much quieter and able to do a lot more creating as I sure do need some time out!...lol.

This morning I started and finished it tonight  Gigi Scott's online canvas class. Can't begin to express how I loved this.... putting so much stuff on is sooooo me and i love love love doing it!.... I don't care if people like it or not i had fun doing it!....lol. I hope this is the start of many more I create as the process is so rewarding. THANKYOU GIGI!!!!!!!!! xxoo :)

If you want to have a go at this online class... CLICK HERE

Here is my 5 x 7 canvas!....

A close up of some of the texture

another close up with my idea of overhanging branch & leaves off the canvas

a different dimensional view, hope you can see more depth in this pic as the tissue paper stands off the canvas.

Here is another canvas I have done but yet to add more modge podge to seal it yet.... I also had a go of doing this before i did GIGI's class to compare the difference.... I can see how some of the steps i never did in this below canvas and made a world of difference in the one above.

My favorite scenes to create.... 4x4 canvas
another direction of the canvas, sorry for the blurred view... also the title is extended around the canvas.
I hope to do more creating this month and check out what others are up to.
Thankyou for taking the time  to look and comment, it makes my day!
Take care and have a great week!

Charity Day- Butterfly Day 24th September

Butterfly Day 24th September

I have been asked to let all my local readers know about the Compassionate Crafters. Julie Short, Danielle May, Naomi Kiss, Shaz Pratten and Judi Lindsay are a group friends who enjoy crafting. They are using there knowledge, skills and community contacts to promote causes and appeals they believe make a difference to the lives of others. How beautiful is this!

On 24th September we are holding a Butterfly Day at Tullera Hall on Dunoon Road.  The purpose of the day is twofold. Firstly we are making cards to support the Harrison's Little Wings Inc Charity. This charity supports parents who suffer the death of a newborn child. (www.harrisonslittlewings.org.au). There are two sessions 9-12 and 1-4 and the cost is $15/session. We are holding raffles, competitions and there will be a cake stall.

The second purpose of the day is to bring awareness of the plight of the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly.  Julie Short (Compassionate Crafter and owner of Idyll Hours Nursery at Modanville) is installing a display with information about the Birdwing and she will also have the 'butterfly vines' for sale.
Check them out on there Facebook Page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Compassionate-Crafters.

For more information on the event contact them at - info@compassionatecrafters.com
Alternatively you can contact Julie on 66282042

I know I am going to go to both sessions not just  for a fun girly day out but a worthy and beautiful cause. We all know of someone or have been affected by loosing a newborn child and I can't wait and would love to help them all out.

If your interested please call Julie it sure will be a fun day out!

till next time

Kraft it up - August challenge

This month at Kraft it up we had a challenging sketch to have a go at....I find sketches fun to use and turn the design around or even flip them...

Here is my Kraft it up layout of our family outing at Minyon Falls Northern NSW. These photos were taken by a very dear friend Alz. We had such a fun day exploring so many sites and showing Alz the country side surrounding Lismore.

Here is the sketch challenge.....

I must confess I got a little carried away with this sketch and did another layout using the same sketch..

You will have seen these pics before but I think they are so cute that you will probably see them a few more times yet...lol. Also one of my favorite scrappers Lou Nelson who I am inspired by, and have been wanting to have a go at Doodling using the white Gel pen to fill in spots and the crumple Tissue paper which I learnt in one of her classes in Brissy Craft convention. (Thankyou Lou xx :) )

Doodling inspired by Lou Nelson :)

Thankyou for taking the time to stop by and have a look
enjoy your day
