Life Update & Tim Holtz class - Day 1

Hi everyone! a good month has past! we have had so much happening ;
  • as kids have finally settled with school for another year.
  • Both kids are starting another year doing dance and gymnastics.
  • Both are doing Dance Solo's this year so this will be fun and a great experience for them both.
  • I had a very sick Dad who is now recovering but has had a rough time that is for sure.
  • We have had a few injuries already this year but i am beginning that's just the way life goes with active kids...
  • We also had my cousin's 8 yr old daughter diagnosed with leukaemia which has been a worrying time for us all. I had organised where Fynmark Kindly donated lots of products for us all to make cards and raise $400 for the family. Everyone that came had a wonderful time and we had 'shazz pratten' come along and talk about heart cards where 80 were donated to the family. A special thankyou to Fynmark, Shazz, Nicky Amber to help make this day happen and be a success!..
  • On a fun note... we have had another birthday in our house, my boy is now 11, He is my baby and I can't believe how quickly time has flown by!.

I have been busy creating but nothing I can share on my blog just yet!.... got to keep you wondering just for a tease!...lol. But it sure has been nice to create once again and having some time out from the madness in my world.

One thing i am very excited about I have enrolled in a Tim Holtz Class 'Creative Chemistry 101'
It is a class that once you've paid, you have lifetime access to the class to refer to at any time. Day 1 was all about products and learning about what products were eg, die's, pigment, solvent, oil based and all the different paper types and how they work with the products! was very interesting and found it fun.

We had some home work, to try out our products we have at home here on hand and play with them and see what they can do!...

Well I decided to Stamp using stamps on dark paper as this is something new to me. So I used my Acrylic Daubers and found I was able to overlap the colours without anything being ruined. I also found I could colour over the Daubers with water colour pencils which was very cool!.... Anyways I had tones of fun, just playing!...

Here  is my image, something very different for me...

Material List:
  • Bella cardstock
  • Ruby Rockit pattern paper
  • fundamental alphas
  • sequin mesh
  • muslin
  • crafters workshop template
  • Stampin Up stamps
  • Judikin Stamps
  • Clear stamps (not sure what brand)
  • pigment ink (snow cap)
  • Die ink (memento's)
  • Ek punch
I'm looking forward what day 2 will bring, it is all about Distress Inks which I am eager to see what else I can do with these lovely colours I have looking at me every day!...lol.

Enjoy your day
take care and Keep smiling
Tan xx :)
