I was going through some of very old layouts and came across this one... and decided hey what a nifty idea... combining journalling and embellishments to tell the story.
I tend to buy quite a lot of embellishments - tiny ones - i love to purchase small metals and charms. When i went to create this layout i used a Becky Higgins sketch but realised that never really thought it through because after placing the pics on my layout I had a huge amount of blank space under the photo on the right - this is where i decided i would make a feature piece of journalling.
I am not sure if you draft your journalling on scrap paper first - but i do - i can tweak the words better and change them around to suit what embellishments i had on hand. After writing my journalling on scrap i went about foraging in my supplies for metal words, stickers, brads, the acrylic heart and i created the 6 out of airdry paper clay. Once everything was gathered up i drew faint lines on my layout and wrote out journalling. I placed each embellishment item in its position as i came to it. And finalluy i had an interactive journal page.
A funny thing about this story is that after pulling this layout again i think i might give it a bit of a spruce up as it has been packed away for over 4 years and looking at it now it needs a little more.... I think as we learn more techniques and more products are created we change the way and the look of what we scrap. I won't pull it apart - i think i will just enhance it -- maybe that can be next weeks post... the upgraded version of this layout... bringing it into the here and now.
have a great week of scrapping

It's cute as is, Tracey. I am wondering what else you will do to it?
