Single Layout - FREE CLASS instructions by Gayatri

Materials needed:

• red cardstock
• white cardstock
• Imaginisce - Lets Pretend Wild flower Soup pattern paper
• Bella Bucklez x 1
• red pearls from kaisercraft
• 6x4" photo
• Alphas of choice
• one red and 2 black green tara flowers
• two red brads

Step 1

Cut about 2cm off on 2 sides of the white cardstock and layer it on top of the red cardstock.

Step 2


Use the Kaisercraft Black Pearl strip and add a borner 1 cm inside the white cardstock.

Step 3

Cut the Imainisce paper slightly bigger than the photo, mabe 7x5" and scallop tow sides of the piece and pierce the holes as shown in the photo.
Cut another long strip of the Imaginisce paper so that it will go through the buckle.

Cut a medium size circle of the same paper but I am using the flower side of the paper
Ink all of them on the edges using black ink

Step 4

Stick the photo on the scallop pattern paper with the scalloped edges showing on one side.
Stick the circle and the calloped pattern paper with the photo as shown in the picture

Step 5

Slide the long strip of pattern paper through the Bella Bucklez and cut both side like a ribbon and past it below the photo as shown in the photo.

Step 6

Layer the black flower over the red flower and then punch out a flower from the Imaginisce paper and layer it on top of the black flower and use a brad to keep them in place.
Similarly layer the other black flower with another flower punch out and secure them using the red brad

Step 7

Adhere both the flowers layer as shown i the picture below

Step 8

Using the red pearls decorate as shown int he picuture

Step 9

Add your title using alphas of your choice. I have used Basic Grey large cardstock stickers from the Granola range. You could use smaller alphas and long titles as well.

I have used a white gel pen and drawn a border on the red cardstock for added interest.

That's it the layout is complete

• metal ruler - that's what I find gives a perfectly straight cut."

"Definately the cutting board, stanley knife and metal ruler as well as a metal stylus (I think that's what they're called) - to apply rubons - they go so easily with one of these. Oh, and the EK success corner rounder - I use this so often it's almost blunt now. You can use it 2 ways - to round the corners of pages/photos or you can create you own scalloped edge with it!"

I don’t think I could ever live without any of them.

"I was told about the Honey Bee scissors when I first started scrapping, some 9 years ago. They are still my favourites today.

My Carl Cutter has lots of measurements on it, making cutting certain sizes of paper a breeze. It also makes card-making easy.

Double sided tape...cheap and it’s super strong, holding everything in place.

Mounting foam is great for dimension, of different thicknesses. I love using it in my work.

Lastly, is Pritt Gel. This is so strong and it won’t fall off your page. Great for gluing buttons, ribbon...the stuff that tape, just sometimes doesn’t hold.

I don’t think I could put a layout together without these five essential tools.

As long as you have the basics to begin with, you’re all set to go!"

My favourite 5 + tools would be....

• EK Sucess Paper trimmer,

I have had several paper trimmers but the EK sucess paper timmer is my old time fav, it has so many measurements, easy to change the blade, have a variety of blades to choose from if you want to. has a long arm with measurements... love it!

My cutter bee sissors are awesome, they cut so nicely and get into really fine places and so comfy to use all day if you want too.

Double sided tape i use for just about everything in excess...lol! so so cheap to use and get more of.

Longe stapler is fantastic i got mine from office works and love how i and staple anywhere i like at ease.

My EK corner rounder is my fav for it has the perfect size i love to use and always gives me perfect results.

Love to sand just about every photo, edges i can...lol! my fav one would be the kaiser craft one due to price and they are so practical.

My colour wheel, If i ever get stuck with colour this is my old time fav where i would check and make sure my colour combos work well. Most of the time i find a colour that go's i hadn't even thought of before to use. love this one heaps and could never live without it!.

INSTRUCTIONS - FREE CLASS - step by step for a Double layout

'Introducing Students'














STEP #1

• I have used the notebook sides of both Birch Patterned Cardstocks
• I then cut 2 long strip of Imaginisce paper and I am using the red side
• I then cut two CD size circles out of the black cardstock and use a white gel pen to go around the edges

STEP #2

• I then placed the long strip of pattern paper and the circle on the base symmetrically as shown in the picture

STEP #3
Place the photo on top of the circle again symmetrically as shown in the picture

STEP #4

• I used the computer to make the journaling strips but left some space to use the salpha stickers to complete the journaling
• Different fonts can be used in the journaling and the alpha stickers can bring added interest

STEP #5

• Use the pearl strip and the red pearls to decorate as shown in the picture
• Use the buttons and paste them in a scattered manner as shown in the picture

STEP #6

• Use big alphas of your choice for the title. On the other hand if you have alpha cutting machine then use the black cardstock to cut alphas for the title.
• I have used Basic Grey Cardstock alpha

I received an invitation to a wedding yesterday and for those of you who visit my blog would know that I have been taking some photos recently of a couple of weddings ... so my head was filled with wedding ideas.

Step by Step Class by Shirley Tait

Products used:

• Kaisercraft Love Stuck "Lace Hearts" pp

Instructions:

1. Using Lace Hearts pattern paper cut out desire background shape. I used a piece of precut cardstock to trace the shape and then cut the pattern paper by hand.

2. Again taking the Lace Hearts pattern paper measure down approx 7 cm from the top and bottom and measure in approx 3 cms from the right and left hand side. Draw your lines in to make a rectangular shape. Then cut this shape from the paper.

3. Take your St Valentines pattern paper and cut a piece to measure 25.5 cm long x 17 cm wide.

4. Stick this St Valentines pattern paper on the Lace Hearts paper approx 4 cm from the top of the page. This piece of pattern paper will cover the rectangular hole left in your Lace Hearts pattern paper.

5. Using the piece of Lace Hearts pattern paper that you cut out earlier trim down to measure 21 cm long x 13 cm wide.

6. Mount this onto the navy cs leaving a small border before sticking onto your page approx 2 cm from the top of the St Valentines rectangle.

7. Trim selected photo's to suit your lo. I have used three photo's two measuring 6 cm wide x 13 cm long and one measuring 4.5 cm wide x 13 cm long.

8. Mount your photo's onto a piece of the left over navy cs and trim to leave a small border.

9. Nearly done now... stick the photo's onto your page approx 2 cms from the bottom of the page and 4 cms in from the right handside of the page.

10. Taking your journalling spot place it above the mounted photo's roughly in the centre of them.

11. Place your corner bling floral flourish to the top left hand side of the photo's using the lo as a guide or as desired. Place the smaller flourish on the bottom right hand corner of the photo's.

12. Take you petallo flower and stick down over the top right hand corner of the photo's using lo as guide.

13. Cut a small piece of leftover St Valentines pp into a small heart shape using the chipboard heart as a template. Gluepattern paper onto chippie heart and affix to the centre of the petalloo flower.

14. Adhere kaiser pink pearls to every second petal near the tip.

15. Apply kindy glitz as desired to the petals & to chippie heart for added sparkle.

16. Choose a title to suit your lo. I have used one from Colorbox's Chipboard Shape Stax. Attach to the journalling spot in desired position.

17. Finally apply dimensional magic to the chippie title for added emphasis. Journal if desired.

This month we wanted to concentrate on some ideas that add finishing touches to your projects....

How often do we hear how do I go to the next level? how do I finish off my projects? Love to know some finishing touches to my project to give it the 'WOW' factor? etc

So......

here are a few from myself and my design team, but their are lots and lots more!;

"As most of you know, I love paint and doodling. If i think my layout needs something a little extra I'll use paint to accentuate the doodled boarder. It can really finish off a layout and give it that "WOW" factor!!"

"If you're trying to acheive a really precise and sharp piece of simple scrapbooking, I find that by using a cutting board with grid lines all over it, Then I can use my ruler to line up paper and embellishments much easier - everything looks accurate that way"

• I love to place embellishments last on a layout and group them together as much as possible.
• Try and not embellish the top right corner to draw attention away from my photos
• We all have favourite embellishments and mine would be acetate for you can stamp on it and tuck it behind or to the side of a cluster of buttons, chip shapes, flowers.
• Flowers are fun to decorate and add different centres using chip shapes, bling, buttons, acetate and more!
  
• Outlining your alphas using a gel pen can help your letters stand out more
• Sanding your edges of your photos can help with saving money on matting your photos but also give a lovely finished look to your photos.
• Create fun titles; they don't have to be loud or large. They can be in many forms like part of a saying, verse, song etc.
• Using staples, brads, buttons, embellishments on your layouts by adding one at the top and 2 at the bottom
• Working in a zig zag manner can create a wonderful look the eye loves.
• Don't be afraid to use up your different chip alphas on your layouts, it not only uses them up but creates a fun look.

"I like to finish off some of my pages by adding a little rough edge sewing with my sewing machine to the photographs. I make up my page and if I feel it needs a little something else I pick a colour cotton and then sew back and forth on the edge of the photo"

Shaz, ........................with the small ric rac on the layout! I have used 3mm double sided tape and then layed it down in the shape required and then placed the ric rac on top. I found glue is way too messy for this sort of thing! hope this helps. xoxo

Bens Birthday!

This week my baby turned 8, wow where has the years gone I can't beleive it has gone so fast!.......

All he wanted was a motecontrol car and so his wish was granted along with a lovely jacket from Aunty Jodie and Uncle Simon, Bella and Max. Nanna and Grandpa came over along with 2 friends to help celebrate.

Ben so much wanted a cross bones cake which he loved helping me make!

LETS PARTY CARD

PRODUCTS USED;

• Green Cardstock
• Pale Pink Cardstock

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut green cardstock to 12 x 6.5"
2. Ink edges ewith walnut stain distress ink
3. Cut polka dot pattern paper measure 6.5" x 2"
4. Cut pink cardstock to measure 6.5" x 1"
5. Cut paper frills to measure 6.5" and trim to suit size wise. I have cut both in half for this card
6. Attach pink cardstock to bottom of card approx 1 cm in.
7. Position pink journal circle to top of card leaving about .5cm from to pof ocard.
8. Place pink/black polka dot pattern paper on card approx 2.5cm from bottom of card
9. Attach cupcake frills to bottom of pattern paper and across top of pattern paper as desired or following card as a guide
10. Position butterfly as desired on card without attaching. When desired location is acquired position rub ons an dafix to card
11. Attach butterfly
12. Ink "lets Party" stamp and stamp out onto card as desired (or using the card as a guide!)
13. Stick on three flowers to bottom right hand corner of card
14. Using kindy glitz bling flowers as desired and i have also blinged up the rubons too
15. Lastly add black kaiser bling to centre of flower and a desired to cupcake frills on top of pattern paper.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Take white cardstock and scallop three sides leaving aoverall size approx 27x27cm.
2. Ink edges with Dark Pink ink pad
3. TAke Basic Grey Bountiful pattern paper and measure down 3.5cm from the top and 3.5cm from the bottom. Measure in 6cm fromthe left hand side and 2.5cm from the right hand side. Cut out this section of paper which will measure roughly 21.5cm x 23.5cm.
4. Attach cardstock to patterned paper approx 1cm from right hand side of paper
5. Position photo on the Right hand edge of pattern paper approx 9cm from top of page
6. Cut the following strips of paper ... all 19.5cm in length. This may need to be adjected to suit the size of your photo

• 2 pieces of Bountiful 1cm wide from leftover pattern paper
• 1 bracket shape using Bountiful approx 2cm wide (1 used a chipboard bracket to trace mine out)
• 3strips of ribbon to suit lo or photo
• 1 piece of cupcake paper frills - small circles
• Fozz felt approx 14cm long (you may need to adjust this measurement to suit photo too!)

1. Ink edges of cut strips of pattern paper and Tim holtz distress Ink and outer edge of layout too.
2. Attach strips of pattern paper, fill, and ribbon to top and bottom of photo and bracket to left hand side of photo
3. Add rub on zig zag rub on to bottom of page.
4. Add felt to the right hand side of phtot
5. Attach large blue bling flower on top left hand corner of photo. leayering with smaller pink flower and lastly baltik flower.
6. Place 6 x 1.5cm flowers randomly over the felt.
7. choose 12 small assorted colour buttons and 11 small assorted colour flowers to place around scallop edges. Attach in an alternating pattern as per layout or as desired
8. Place rub ons at random on bottom left hand corner and top left hand corner of layout
9. Place pink floral bling over rubon on top left hand corner
10. Following layout as example place baltic flowers and small flowers in bottom left hand corner of layout
11. Add rub on words to suit as per layout
12. Place love heart bling on assorted flowers as desired or following layout as guide
13. Lastly bling as desired or again following layout as guide.

and Leanne Stamatellos has designed a fantastic kit to inspire you
as well as guide you through it step by step ‘live’ in an online Cyber Crop class at Scrap Chat.

The layout, as featured below in our sneak peaks,
is true ‘simple style’ and can be used as a great basis for so many other layouts.

It can be created in A4 size (her favourite) or in 12x12. The journaling and title is easily customised to suit your photo.

Included in the kit will be everything you need to create the layout
for only $12.50 including the Cyber Crop class.

1 x medium sized flower
1 x Bella jumbo brad
1 packet x Carolees Creations alphas – black
1 packet x Kaisercraft rubons – new release
6x4 piece x Jak adhesive paper
6x4 piece x Hambly acetate



All you need to supply is
adhesive
glue
cutter
scissors
ruler
computer or you can hand journal
one photo – printed 3x4 inches – preferably black and white unless
you have one that co-ordinates with the papers

The class will be held towards the end of March – date to be confirmed
– possibly Saturday 21 March or Thursday 26 March.
Kits are limited and can only be posted until the week before the Cyber Crop.

March 09 Scrap N Craft with T Challenge........

Every Month we are providing you all with a challenge. We will try and have challenges up at the beginning of the month and on the last day of the month we will email and post who has won.

We will have in the future some challenges set by our tallented Design Team. This month is set by me (tanyah Payne).
